New Year's 1st post! - Military Inspired Pants

Happy New Year, everyone!  Hope all of you had a blast last on the eve of 2014. On this side of the planet, we had a wonderful, small and intimate celebration at my house with some friends and family. At midnight we all adjourned to my rooftop bracing the relatively 'cold' night (about 15 degrees) for the spectacular New Years's Eve firework display from Burj Khalifa. We are lucky to live in the shadow of the giant building that allowed us he clear view of the display.

The display lasted a full 6 minutes followed by another display that broke the Guiness World Record as the biggest and longest firework display. It ran from the Atlantis Hotel on the Palm all the way to Port Rashid and since we are also a block away from the beach, we got the best view of that too. I took a video but somehow it didn't load when I try to share it here.

Now, back to the outfit post this week, I am pleased to announced that I finally found the perfect military inspired a.k.a. camouflage pants that I've been looking for.  There were many in the market but they were mostly the jeans type. I was looking for the loose cargo/utility or pants type and after a long while of searching, this pair came along.  I found it on Shopbop and it was on sale!

I love the slouchy look and the feel of the material. They are perfect for travel or even to run around in  while doing errands. If any of you are interested in buying this pair, know that they run big, so do size down if you do not fancy the baggy look. I am normally a 27/28 jeans size and I ordered a 26 and achieved the slouchy look I was hoping for.

  4. I adore the slouchiness of this outfit, gives it such a casual chic vibe. So my son tells me over the weekend that he wants to take a graduation trip to Dubai. I got a kick out of that! Looks like a very fun place to visit.

  13. I hate camouflage clothes. A personal thing. But this is the third time I see an outfit with camouflage print which I really like. Am I changing? Or do you just know exactly how to combine it right? Anyway: really nice.
