Bags - Chanel

Ok, I admit it, I am a bag lady.. not proud of it but I simply can't help buying.  I have actually promised myself to not buy anymore bags at least for this year.  Thankfully I am not in the Hermes wagon.. I am sort of hoping that I will never be, my sons need to go to college ; )

I have down sized my so called collection over the years and these are what I have left, one for every occasion!

  1. Very nice Love! I actually prefer vintage over new as they have a history....and IMO, are more well made.

  6. I love your Chanel GST in red....its really nice to see someone buying red instead of black. I am hoping next year there would be dark blue....Now, I am on my way to save some $$$ to buy the Chanel GST in Dark Blue....hope it is nice.

    1. I think black is a bit of a cliche and since I already have black jumbo, a red GST would be nice, plus the 2010 Cruise Red is among the best reds Chanel ever produced, so I couldn't help myself :D I think dark blue is a good color, I love my maxi in dark blue, above.. what a versatile color in my opinion. Yes, Chanel price is very steep now a days but if one can afford it or can save for one, it is a worthy investment :) Good luck and let me know the ending to your GST quest!

Your Chanel maxi is in dark blue? Its look kinda black in the photo, but all your Chanel bags SUPER HOT.....Can you tell me if the GST is really a good buy? I mean the compartment? I never saw this GST bag in person, maybe I should ask a pro like you for an advice....waiting for your reply....

  8. Hi! Well, I am NOT a pro but I will tell you what I know. GST to me is a good bag and fits a lot but if you want to maintain its shape, be sure to not over-stuff your bag. I think it makes a good office bag especially when it can fit A4 documents and iPad. Downside - open top and the straps tend to slip down your shoulder but there's a trick to it ;D Hope this helps with your questions. By the way I don't have lots of $$$ especially when I am just a house-wife, all the bags were gifts from my husband or bought from consignment store/ebay :)

  9. Hi there...thanks for the great info. Appreciate it...
You are really down to earth person....yup, you are lucky coz your husband is willingly buying it for you..wish me too (I am still single, so all the handbags I buy with my own $$$). Thanks again yeah....hopefully I get it next year...Insyallah....

  10. Hi dear, need some info again from you on the Chanel GST Large Shopping bag.
Which color is the best, in your opinion? And very easy to maintain?
FYI, I never saw this bag in person, but according to my mum who went to Singapore recently, the blue is not really nice, but she never have a chance to see the red, as the store didnt carry or no stock for red GST.
So, any idea which color is the best to purchase? For me, I prefer red, blue or pink instead of black, but I am scared its difficult to maintain as I am a bit rought person. Hehehehe...(Scared the bag might scratch here & there).
Let me know your opinion ya....would appreciate it. Thinking of buying it next year in Paris, as I want the Rue Cambon stamp on its ring...hehehehehe.....

    1. There is only 2 classic colors that Chanel produces each season which are black and Beige Claire/Light beige (like the one I have in the picture) As for red, it is a seasonal color, for example the one that I have is from the Cruise collection 2010 which in my opinion is still the best red Chanel ever produced. If you are looking for red or other colors, you would have to wait for the them to come out and bear in mind every color has many tones and undertones so to get the one you really like you might have to wait a while.

As for maintenance, caviar leather is easier to maintain than lamb but I don't think GST comes in lamb so that is one problem solved. You just have to be careful with dirt and color transfer from your clothing. If you want the least maintenance color, I would say black. Don't worry about the Rue Cambon stamping coz all GST have that no matter where you buy it. My red GST does not have the Rue Cambon stamping because it is from pre-2011 when Chanel actually changed a bit of details on GST like the stamping on the rings and the stitching of the double Cs on the bag.

I hardly use my GST anymore and thinking of letting it go rather than sitting in my closet looking pretty for nothing. Good luck!

    2. If you ever decide to let your red GST go, please consider me! I have been looking for this red for so long! :,D

  11. Thanks for the info. You really give me some good knowledge about the Chanel bag. I never knows about this, until I read your explanation above.
Actually, I hate BLACK handbag, but like you say, its easy to maintain...well, maybe if I want to buy it, I go for black then...really cant imagine, myself carrying a black Chanel GST....OMG....
What? U didnt really use your GST? If I am staying at your place and be your friend, I might consider borrowing it to a party...hehehehe (just kidding)....I love handbags, and thanks coz you are such a nice person to explain it...
anyway, one more question...the light beige, it is color transfer? I prefer it, compare to black....sorry asking so much....but, again, tqvm....

    1. Most color can have color transfer, not only Beige Claire. MY red GST had a color transfer from one of my jeans before but luckily with caviar leather it can be removed using meltonian cleaner. No more! I guess on BC it would be more obvious but so far I was careful and nothing on mine.
