Happy Weekend, everybody!
Normally, every weekend I will share a recipe post on my blog but this week, I would like to share with you some pictures from the party or rather pictures before the party started, right after everything was set up. The theme was Malay Cuisine but as for the dessert, I stick to what I know.. I am terrible at Malay dessert!
Thanks for letting me share and have a great weekend, everyone!

ReplyDeleteThanks Rachel for reading and this sweet comment. This is one of our national dresses and Captain was wearing the male version, even if he's Italian and NOT Malay ;D

DeleteOh My Goodness! Jack Fruit!!!!!! Can't believe you have that. I love Jack Fruit. Haven't had any in years... now I'm absolutely craving some!
ReplyDeleteAlso what are those white squares in the white dish? It reminds me of this sticky rice that some Malaysian friends would make at Thanksgiving/Christmas... it had a minty color and was always so delicate & delicious. Looking at your dishes makes me miss those days.
Hi, Ms Ja! I haven't had Jack fruit in a long while myself ever since I moved abroad. These I got from a friend who went back home in Malaysia and brought back some for me. The white squares you were asking is actually rice cakes that goes with chicken rendang or beef dendeng. It can also be eaten with the yellow gravy Lodeh. The rice cake is made of compressed white steamed rice laced with a slight fragrance of 'pandan leaf'. I think the one you are talking about is another variety of rice cube made of sticky rice instead, a delicacy and yes, yummy indeed!
Deleteooooo, the food looks soooooooo good! i think i better for my lunch now :¬)
