Hidden wedges sneakers - Yay or Nay?

As some may know, I'm a late bloomer when it comes to trend.  Most of the time I would be unsure of trend thinking it may be too much for a simple me, it may make me look short, fat, too young for the 40 plus me... all sort of reasoning would come to mind every time I think of trying something new.

Same thing went with the hidden wedge sneakers trend that took the fashion scene by storm ever since Isabel Marant started the craze! I was thinking that it was too young for me but then again I have pairs of Converse that I use on a regular basis, what's the big deal?

Well, a fellow blogger Ylenia Labate sort of talk me into this trend and I gave it a shot.  For trial, I didn't want to spend a bomb on a pair of Isabel Marant so I settled for this pair from Aldo.  Costed me about $110 (DHS400) and so far so good.  I wore them out with the boys and the verdict - Yay! They are comfortable, wearable and they didn't make me feel like 'mutton trying to dress up as lamb'! The only down side is that the laces are too long.  Any tip on solving this problem?

  2. They look really cute on you! You may have to double knot the laces to get them shorter?

  6. I say "yay" (big yay!) to hidden wedge sneakers. I think the IM ones will quickly go out of style, but this pair will be great for years to come because the wedge isn't so in your face. At first glance, they look like regular sneakers. I have a pair of black Nike Dunk Ski Highs and love them because the wedge is a little more discreet and the style is more classic.

So glad I clicked on your comment that led me back to your blog, your posts' contents are info and image juicy so expect to be seeing some regular comments from me. I've just bought a new pair of SS13 Céline loafers in hopes to provoke in minimalism, I'd say it's still quite provoking, do tell what you think on my investment on these new hooves lol ;)
