Another trend that is slowly making a come back is the kimono jacket. Browsing the stores I could see them jackets everywhere! So I took the opportunity to dig out my vintage kimono collection and picked out this one for a spin yesterday.
When I went crazy over Haori kimonos a couple of years back, I went on a buying rampage and bought a few vintage original kimonos from Japan. These beauties came from the 50s, post World War 2. I love how fine the workmanship is, the material and detailing.. so well made! Well, to tell you the truth I hardly wear them but they are quite versatile, I discovered. Not only they make a good jacket, they also can double up as beach cover-ups! Plus they are very original that I was stopped many times by curious strangers inquiring about them.
So what's your take on kimono trend? Will we be seeing you in one this season?

Pretty fab kimono!
ReplyDeleteDress wise, well I'm 36, 26, 36 so usually a UK ten, sometimes an 8 if I can squeeze my bust in! Everyone says that dress will stretch after wear so I think you're right, the large would be massive on my shoulders.
They look so comfy, so I might have to try one out this season!

I don't think that I would go for the current kimono trend, however when it comes to classic, vintage anything, I'm all for it. Your kimono is just stunning, and I love that you made it look modern but pairing it with a tank and jeans :)
