Gold Studded Sheer

Good Monday, everyone! It's a brand new week and after a month plus of 'celebration' and good chaos, the house is now back to being quiet.  Yes, the folks (my parents) had gone back to Kuala Lumpur last week, sadly. The boys now are busy studying for the final exams which means they are all in their own room which adds to the house feeling so deserted.

On to the outfit of this week, this top arrived in the mail courtesy of an online shop Persunmall last week. Honestly speaking, I like the design and cut of this top on sight!  The material is of good quality and it is quite well made too.  The only downside is that it has a split on the front that ends quiet low. So low that the whole inner wear could be seen. Because of this fact, I had to wear a camisole and that is a bit turn off for me as it makes me feel a bit bulky. Other than that this top is perfect and would be an ideal top for summer. Maybe I could find a bralette or a half tube to wear instead of the camisole... I think that would work!

Any idea how I could make it better?

  1. very pretty top, love the studs. I too would wear a tank or cami underneath, and play with colors. Thanks for sharing with Visible Monday!

  3. I hate wearing camisoles too, but unfortunately I have to with most of my blouses! I love the creamy color on you, and the gold studs add a lovely extra touch!

  4. great outfit, especially love the pants. I'm not crazy about adding a cami or tank underneath either, but I haven't been able to find anything that works with low cut or sheer tops. I've tried tube tops, but I have trouble keeping those on, I'm always tugging at them, lol! Have a good week Mrs C!

    1. I think that tube scenario is going to be my problem too.. and I would tug and pull at it, it would be a mess. No tube.

  5. Mrs C, I really like the way you wore this top with the camo jeans. Hmm I think the top would look good tucked into a pencil skirt, perhaps. Either way, you're so stylish :)

    1. I'm not sure about tucking it in as the front is way too short. It has a faux fold on the front that makes it look tucked.

  6. I love the top! I always wear a camisole underneath my blouses so I don't really mind. You look great!

  7. The top is so edgy with the camo pants. Even though there are studs on the blouse I would add some delicate long necklaces. Can you undo the top button of the blouse if you have a tank or camisole underneath? What about a sequined tank that could rock that blouse?

    1. I am bad at accessorizing.. I have to do it more. I have a sequined tank somewhere.. I'll give it a shot! Thanks for the idea :)

  8. This is such a fun top. I can't tell from the pictures but is the material sheer on this top too? I am so used to wearing cami under tops that it doesn't really even bother me. I don't think I have any suggestion on something else besides a cami.

  13. I have an almost identical top in navy with the same "wide open" front. I have to wear a tank under mine (I do a sparkly one) but if you want to skip the tank perhaps the addition of a button over the already existing one, or maybe even a brooch? It's a gorgeous top, it deserves to be worn ;-)

  15. I like how you styled it Mrs. C. I think that sheer camisole is the perfect item to wear under the soft top if all else fails. Or try a bandeau (which I had to google the right spelling for!). You can try different colored bandeaus to match your pants or do a color block look. Pastels are in these days so maybe like a pastel yellow or pink bandeau and then mint pants?

  19. I can see the attraction of the shirt. It is lovely! I was wondering the same thing as Alicia. Could you add another button a little higher up to make it more modest?

I always felt at odds with myself when the house would get quiet after my parents had left. I'd love the peace, but would feel sad that they had gone. Fortunately, we didn't live far away from them for along period of time!

  20. I suppose you now have the household equivalent of the 'Quiet after the Storm'?! I love this look on you, very chic and yet also laid-back to present an overall appearance of luxury! Love it! :)

  21. Lovely blouse on you, but I see your problem. It pulls just a little there at the button as well. If not for that, I'd try moving that little button up just a bit and tacking the hems together with some careful little stitches on the under side. Hmmm.
Camis are necessary for me fairly often as it's the only way I feel comfy in very sheer fabrics or crops. But I love the silky, lingerie kind, and quite enjoy wearing them ... when I can find them. Mostly I'm just finding the thicker, stretch jersey-ish, sporty styles.

    1. Yes, I like the satin/silky type to but somehow it is close to impossible to find. I'll try La Senza and VS sometime if I can get one.

  24. I love the stud details on your white top! It's so unexpected! Do you think this top would work with a highwaisted skirt, perhaps?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. In my opinion it would because the skirt is high waisted but if it is not it wouldn't due to the short hem on the front. You just gave me an idea.. I might try it with a high waisted pants I just bought! :) Thanks!
