Malaysia... Truly Asia! - Part 1

Hello, everyone!  Hope you all had a great week so far.  As promised, this week I am going to share with you some of the images taken back in Malaysia.  There are so many and I don't even know where to start, so let's divide this segment into a few parts, shall we?

Malaysia is famous of its iconic Petronas Twin Towers.  They are after all the tallest twin towers in the world.  I have seen many towers including the Burj Khalifa, 5 minutes from my home in Dubai which is stunning but the marvel of architecture of this fabulous towers never fail to amaze me every time.  I have to admit, they are the first sight that I look forward to when driving in into Kuala Lumpur from KL International Airport.  The sight at night is so spectacular, my camera did not do them justice at all!

The Orchid Garden, Butterfly Park and Bird Park in the heart of Kuala Lumpur are something that not to be missed.  I love the Butterfly Park the most!  I can just sit there in the small garden listening to the water running through the koi ponds in the park and just let the butterflies drop by to say "Hi"!  So much colors and so many species!

Captain got lost among the beautiful orchids :)

I seriously think that if you want something really different to experience, a trip to the east coast of the Peninsular Malaysia is a must.  The shots below are of the state called Kelantan, where I was born. Things move slower there... one could feel like going back in time, everything is so retro! Kelantan is famous for its beautiful islands and beaches and they are untouched by mega developments.  I am hoping for things to stay that way so that Kelantan would never loose its flare and trademark.

 Fresh vegetables.. love!

Living abroad, these are the things I miss the most - the exotic tropical fruits! Can you name some of the fruits in this picture?

Cassettes in the year 2013??  Only in Kelantan!

I have to thank my brother in law Dani for these beautiful shots... thanks, Dani!  Watch out for this space again soon for more tales from Malaysia and have a great week ahead!

  13. I have never been to Kelantan even though my dad lives there. I must make a trip up. The Durians look so plump and luscious. I wish I was back there now for Durian season.
