Last week we were blessed with unexpected rain here in Dubai. It was raining the whole day and we were so happy sticking our faces out and played in the rain a bit. It has been a while since we get to smell the rain and see the garden all green and super clean! Coming from a country smack on the Equator, I grew up with rain everday until I moved here. So, last week was a real treat!
The not so nice bit about rain here is that things got disrupted simply because. The roads disappeared underwater and it took days to drain. The drainage system were clogged with sand from the storms and didn't work as efficient as it was suppose to be. The digital internet/entertainment system (equivalent to talk talk tv in the UK) went berserk and we were without internet connection for a couple of days. Thankfully most coffee shops here are equip with WiFi connection and we were the regulars for those days!
On to the outfit, what would you choose from your wardrobe when you want to feel elegant and polished for the day? For me I'd grab an all black or monochromatic ensemble and top a blazer over. A pair of fancy killer heels to finish and off I'd go. Not only I feel elegant and polished, I also feel comfortable and relaxed in this pairing. Black has always been my go-to color and even if I have been a color convert for over a year (since I started blogging) it is always black that I turn to, to lift me up!

Agreed on, black is a life saver! However, the colors of your heels do light the outfit up! You look very modern chic!
ReplyDeleteThis Outfit was Perfect. As I mentioned it was one of my Favorites. The post is already up so stop by whenever you can & check out what everyone wore, including me. =)
ReplyDeleteThanks again for participating Ida.
I find black to be the most difficult color to wear head-to-toe but you make it look effortless! Of course, you know the shoes and the bag - especially the bag - are my favorite ;-)

ReplyDeleteYou look very elegant and chic in this outfit. Simple yet stunning look. Like your blue-striped sandals, they give an unexpected pop of colour to this whole-black outfit.
ReplyDeleteHere in Nepal there are no rains during winter season, sometimes there is not a single rain during 4 months, everything becomes so dull then. And when finally it rains everybody is so happy then.
Same thing here, Olga.. the neighbourhood kids were swimming in the puddles! That's a bit extreme I thought ;)
DeleteYou look gorgeous. Pretty shoes!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you! This is one of my fav outfits of yours! SO SO chic! LOVE the heels, too! Ooh, and the BAG! <3
ReplyDeleteYou'r Zara sandals are so cute! I've never bought shoes from there bc I fear they will be uncomfortable but I am going to try!

thanks for stopping by my blog hun!! Your shoes here are Fabulous. The perfect pop of color with this chic black outfit.
ReplyDeleteYup ... polished black basics are always great. I'm so happy that the wide variety of textures and modern fabric weights allows us to wear darks year-round. What a great addition the little colored sandals are! Your jewelry choices and little front tuck make it really current looking.
ReplyDeleteBlack seems grounding to me, and always allows me maximum confidence because I can focus on whatever it is I'm doing, rather than what I'm wearing.
Yes, somehow black give that feeling to me too.. carefree, that's the word :)
DeleteI love an all black look and the addition of those great shoes really makes it special.
ReplyDeleteGrowing up in the desert city of Las Vegas, I do know a bit about the problems that come with rain in an arid environment. There is no where for the water to go so floods can occur with only an inch or two of rain.
Yes, that's Dubai.. kind of bitter sweet when it comes to rain
DeleteYou look gorgeous in black! Not many people can pull it off so well :) Love the blue shoes with it!

ReplyDeleteStunning in black and your fabulous heels are the highlight of this look. I really love it!
