Kimono - Yay or Nay?

Another trend that is slowly making a come back is the kimono jacket.  Browsing the stores I could see them jackets everywhere!  So I took the opportunity to dig out my vintage kimono collection and picked out this one for a spin yesterday.

When I went crazy over Haori kimonos a couple of years back, I went on a buying rampage and bought a few vintage original kimonos from Japan.  These beauties came from the 50s, post World War  2.   I love how fine the workmanship is, the material and detailing.. so well made!  Well, to tell you the truth I hardly wear them but they are quite versatile, I discovered. Not only they make a good jacket, they also can double up as beach cover-ups!  Plus they are very original that I was stopped many times by curious strangers inquiring  about them.

So what's your take on kimono trend?  Will we be seeing you in one this season?

I found a 1920s silk one at a car boot sale but I've only worn it in the house. If I looked half as good as you in mine it'd be outdoor wear! x

Dress wise, well I'm 36, 26, 36 so usually a UK ten, sometimes an 8 if I can squeeze my bust in! Everyone says that dress will stretch after wear so I think you're right, the large would be massive on my shoulders.
