My New Snappy Friend

I am not big on photography; most of the pictures I snapped have always had something to do with people standing in line smiling awkwardly at the camera.  I am somewhat envious of those who take good pictures, like postcards, pictures that speak the mood at that particular time.  My reasoning point has always been “They must have a good camera”.  My camera and travel companion for the past 5 years, Miss Casio Exilim 8.1 MP, is a basic ‘point and snap’ type and the results were not too great.  So, since I started blogging, I am determined to try and take good pictures for my blog and for that today we brought home our new friend, Miss Fujifilm HS20EXR.  We bought her second hand from another expat that bought this camera for his wife whom later found it too complicated for her.  She was left unused for the past few months.   My hope is that she’s not too complicated for me too and that she will help me snap more pictures and record memories to last a lifetime!

:: A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME ::

I am a 40 something expat, mother to my fabulous 3 sons and a wife to darling 'Captain'.  We are currently residing in Dubai, UAE where Captain is flying with one of the airlines.  Ever since I quit my job as a TV Producer and moved here, I have been a 'stay at home mom' and after a while I felt the need to do something and channel all my restlessness somewhere, hence the blog.

:: THE OUTFITS ::

My outfit posts are of what I wear on the day to day basis depending on what I do on that particular day. I love fashion and trend but I do not consider myself as fashion/trend slave. I am trying to be more practical, work with what's best for me, wear more of what I already have in my closet and buy what I think needed to compliment them.  My New Year resolution for 2012 was to 'Wear more and Buy less' of which I am still struggling to keep!  Most (if not all) of the pictures were taken by my 14 year old twin sons.

The recipes posted on this blog are the ones I have tried many times and 'mastered' or the ones I tried for the first time.  I am not exactly Nigella Lawson so, bear with the 'trial and error' bit  and mind the pictures, they might not be pretty!

We are privileged to be able to travel a bit and we hope to share some pictures and information on the places we were able to visit with you!
